la expresi\u00f3n de los genes?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Para comenzar, la expresi\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica es el proceso en el que tu cuerpo convierte informaci\u00f3n del ADN en actividad funcional: prote\u00ednas, enzimas, se\u00f1ales celulares, etc. Que var\u00edan en cada persona, etapa de su vida, nivel de estr\u00e9s, y por supuesto, por el sue\u00f1o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 id=\"estos-son-hallazgos-interesantes-de-estudios-recientes\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Estos son hallazgos interesantes de estudios recientes:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Un art\u00edculo de <em>Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences<\/em> mostr\u00f3 que una semana de sue\u00f1o insuficiente altera la expresi\u00f3n de cientos de genes en la sangre humana, especialmente los ligados al reloj biol\u00f3gico (circadiano), la inmunidad y el metabolismo.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Spatial transcriptomics<\/em> (2023) revela c\u00f3mo la falta de sue\u00f1o altera la expresi\u00f3n de genes en diferentes regiones cerebrales, de formas variadas dependiendo del \u00e1rea (hipocampo, corteza, t\u00e1lamo).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>La revisi\u00f3n \u201cBehaviour genetics and sleep\u201d (2023) recopila evidencia de que tanto nuestros genes como el ambiente (lo que comemos, cu\u00e1nto nos movemos, nuestra exposici\u00f3n a luz) moldean c\u00f3mo dormimos, y que esta forma de dormir, a su vez, modifica la expresi\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica de rutas vinculadas al metabolismo, al sistema nervioso y al sistema inmune.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>World Sleep Society y OMS (2023\u20132025) Reconocen la higiene del sue\u00f1o como parte de la prevenci\u00f3n en salud p\u00fablica, no solo por su relaci\u00f3n con el descanso, sino con enfermedades cr\u00f3nicas no inmunol\u00f3gico d\u00e9bil<\/strong> (genes que regulan respuestas inflamatorias o reparaci\u00f3n celular pueden activarse menos).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Inflamaci\u00f3n cr\u00f3nica<\/strong> (base de enfermedades cardiovasculares, autoinmunes y metab\u00f3licas).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Des\u00f3rdenes metab\u00f3licos<\/strong> (genes relacionados con la glucosa, hambre, saciedad o el regulaci\u00f3n emocional dependen de que ciertos genes del cerebro funcionen bien, ocurre mejor si el sue\u00f1o es adecuado).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Envejecimiento celular acelerado <\/strong>(por class=\"wp-block-heading\">Factores que influyen en la calidad de sue\u00f1o<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ambiente<\/strong>: Luz artificial por la noche, ruido, calor, pantallas, baja exposici\u00f3n a la luz natural durante el d\u00eda, contaminaci\u00f3n, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Desorden del ritmo circadiano<\/strong>: Dormir en horarios irregulares confunde horas similares a\u00fan cuando sea fin de semana, el cuerpo aprecia la constancia.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cuida la higiene del sue\u00f1o:<\/strong> Evita las pantallas al menos 1 hora ates de dormir, trata de descansar en un lugar oscuro, silencioso y templado, evita comidas pesadas o estimulantes cercanos a la hora de dormir.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reduce el estr\u00e9s:<\/strong> Prueba leer, t\u00e9cnicas de relajaci\u00f3n, meditaci\u00f3n y t\u00f3mate un tiempo para ti antes de dormir, esto ayuda a bajar la producci\u00f3n de cortisol que interfieren con los genes del sue\u00f1o. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Exposici\u00f3n adecuada a la luz:<\/strong> La luz natural en tu habitaci\u00f3n durante el d\u00eda favorece sincronizar relojes gen\u00e9ticos, por la noche, evita luces muy brillantes, especialmente la luz azul.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Actividad f\u00edsica regular:<\/strong> El ejercicio moderado mejora la calidad de sue\u00f1o y a su vez favorece una expresi\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica sana.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Consulta a tu m\u00e9dico si existen problemas persistentes:<\/strong> Si padeces de insomnio, interrupciones frecuentes o somnolencia diurna intensa te recomendamos acudir a una consulta profesional ya que a veces intervienen factores espec\u00edficos (terapia de sue\u00f1o, luz terap\u00e9utica, ajustes hormonales, siguiente d\u00eda, regula c\u00f3mo tus genes funcionan, c\u00f3mo te proteges ante infecciones, inflamaci\u00f3n enfermedades metab\u00f3licas e incluso tu estado de \u00e1nimo.  Cuando adoptas h\u00e1bitos favorables a un sue\u00f1o reparador, le ayudas a tu cuerpo a activar genes de reparaci\u00f3n, defensa y equilibrio, el descanso no es un lujo, es una necesidad y una gran herramienta diaria que te ayuda a proteger tu salud a nivel celular.
